49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo: I’m not worried about QB competition with Trey Lance

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo insists he is not worried about the competition with rookie Trey Lance.

Garoppolo started the Niners’ second preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers, before he was replaced by Lance.

After the game, Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan refused to name Garoppolo Week 1 starter.

Garoppolo didn’t play much against the Chargers and in his time spent on the field he went 3-of-6 for 15 yards, one interception and no touchdowns.

“I think Kyle is always challenging us,” Garoppolo said, per Pro Football Talk. “He kind of knows us and knows how to push guys in certain ways. I’m not too worried about that. . . . There’s just so many other things to worry about. I’ll let the chips fall as they may.”
