Aaron Rodgers declined Packers’ offer to become top-paid NFL player

The Green Bay Packers wanted to make Aaron Rodgers the highest-paid player in football this offseason but the quarterback turned down a two-year extension, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The drama between Rodgers and the Packers is well-documented as it has been one of the main stories of the offseason.

Last month, Rodgers skipped the mandatory minicamp and reports suggest he doesn’t want to return to Green Bay.

However, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has said he has no plans to trade Rodgers.
