Broncos’ Drew Lock ‘disappointed’ after losing starting QB job to Teddy Bridgewater

Denver Broncos quarterback Drew Lock admitted he was “disappointed” after losing the battle for the team’s starting quarterback job.

On Wednesday, Broncos head coach Vic Fangio announced Teddy Bridgewater as the team’s starting quarterback for Week 1.

Lock was the Broncos’ starting quarterback last season but failed to impress as the Broncos finished with a 5-11 record and missed out on the playoffs.

“Obviously, it’s disappointing,” Lock said, via the Broncos’ official website. “Every feeling that you could possibly have at this point, this day, this circumstance, you know they’re running deep. I feel like at the time, I was playing some of the best football I’ve played since I’ve been in the league. I was more confident than I’ve ever been. Most of you guys think of me as a confident guy, but I was probably more confident than I’ve been since I’ve been in the league since this OTAs, this training camp, this preseason. This is such a special team, I was hoping and looking forward to being able to lead this team.”
