Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said he was “very frustrated” that everybody wanted to make the Buccaneers and New England Patriots game about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
On Sunday, Brady returned to Foxboro for the first time since the split to take on the Patriots.
Brady enjoyed a victorious return to Gillette Stadium as the Buccaneers won 19-17 after a 56-yard field goal missed by the Patriots kicker Nick Folk.
After the game, Brady and his former coach Belichick met and had a pleasant conversation.
“This is a team sport. … I don’t think Bill played a snap,” Arians said. “He had 22 guys out there playing their ass off, and I knew they would. And we had 22 guys out there playing their asses off. One of ’em just happened to be named Brady.”
