Cam Newton: I will be saying a lot this Friday but it won’t be a retirement speech

2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton plans to release a video on Friday in which he will be getting “a lot of things off his chest.”

However, Newton insists it won’t be a retirement speech.

Newton, who was cut by the New England Patriots just before the start of the regular season, hasn’t yet found a new team.

“On this week’s Funky Friday, I have a lot of things that I need to get off my chest,” Newton said. “This is not a retirement speech, and I have a lot of football still in me.”

Following his release from the Patriots, Newton insisted he would be good: “I really appreciate all the love and support during this time but I must say please don’t feel sorry for me. I’m good.
