Cowboys don’t appear to be interested in adding Cam Newton

Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy didn’t sound too interested when he was asked about the possibility of adding 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton to the team.

Earlier this week, the New England Patriots released Newton and announced rookie Mac Jones as their starting quarterback.

On the other side, the Cowboys claimed Will Grier off of waivers and added a third quarterback in the quarterback room that includes Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush.

Many suggested the Cowboys could use an experienced quarterback behind Prescott since Rush and Grier are far from proven quarterbacks in the league.

“I think he has a ton of football left. We’re very excited about the group we have,” McCarthy said when asked about the possibilty of adding Newton, via Jori Epstein of USA Today.
