Falcons’ Josh Rosen: Said some dumb things in the past that I’m not proud of

2018 No. 1 pick Josh Rosen has admitted that he has said some “dumb things” in the past but insists he is now more mature and determined that he belongs in the NFL.

Rosen, who is playing on his fifth NFL team, debuted for the Atlanta Falcons in preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns.

Rosen completed 9-of-18 passes for 118 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions.

“People say you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression and that is true in a macro sense of the NFL,” Rosen said following a 19-10 loss to the Browns, per ESPN. “Said some dumb things coming out that I’m not all that proud of, but I’ve had a lot of chances to make a first impression with new teams and I think each one has been a little bit better.”

After being selected at No. 10 by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 NFL draft, Rosen had a message for teams that passed on him.

“There were nine mistakes ahead of me,” Rosen said, referring to the nine picks made before his name was called.
