Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew is ready to compete with Trevor Lawrence for the team’s starting quarterback job.
Minshew, who was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft, started 12 games as a rookie and eight last season.
The Jaguars finished last season with a 1-15 record and used their No. 1 pick in this past NFL draft to select Lawrence out of Clemson.
Lawrence is expected to be the Jaguars’ starting quarterback in 2021.
“I’ll say this man, in preparation for the competition, I haven’t taken a shit in weeks,” Minshew recently said during an appearance on Green Light with Chris Long (via Jamal St. Cyr of WJXT4). “Because number two isn’t an option for me. Number two is not an option.”
