Panthers waive J.T. Ibe after he sent teammate to hospital

The Carolina Panthers have waived safety J.T. Ibe after he sent wide receiver Keith Kirkwood to the hospital.

On Tuesday — during a practice — Ibe delivered a hit to the head of Kirkwood after the wide receiver caught a pass.

Ibe was immediately kicked out of practice and Panthers head coach Matt Rhule called the hit “unnaceptable.”

Kirkwood was on the ground for more than 10 minutes before he was carted off to an ambulance.

Ibe went undrafted in the 2021 NFL draft but the Panthers signed him in April.
