Steelers’ Melvin Ingram speaks on Chargers not offering him new deal this offseason

New Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Melvin Ingram insists he is holding no grudges toward the Los Angeles Chargers.

Ingram, who was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Chargers, changed teams for the first time in his career this offseason.

Ingram made $14 million last season but only appeared in 7 games due to a knee injury.

This offseason, the Chargers decided against offering Ingram a new deal.

“That has no motivation for me,” Ingram said, per Steelers Depot. “It’s a business. I understand the business. Like I’m not a person who is like salty about it. They changed my life. Nine years ago, they changed my life. 10 years ago, they changed my life. That’s no motivation for me. Me waking up and doing my work every day is my only motivation. I’ve got two kids and a family. So, my family, my girl, my kids that’s what motivates me.”
