Texans safety Justin Reid on being used as kicker versus Buccaneers: I had the time of my life

Houston Texans safety Justin Reid had a blast playing the kicker position in preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn dealt with a minor muscle pull during warm-ups and Reid filled in as a replacement.

The Texans didn’t attempt a field goal and went for a 2-point conversion after each of their two touchdowns but Reid did kick atter every Houston score.

Just a few days earlier, Reid said it was his dream to kick an extra point in a game.

“I had the time of my life,” Reid said, per ESPN. “I’ve been looking forward to this moment for so long. I can’t tell you how excited I was when the coaches said, ‘You’re up this game.’ And I was like, ‘Really, I get one?’ They said, ‘No, you’re up the whole game.’ So I was so excited to be out there. It was a dream come true.”
