Tim Tebow on Urban Meyer bar incident: It takes lifetime to build reputation and moment to lose it

Tim Tebow said he spoke with Urban Meyer and revealed the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach told him he was going through “one of the hardest times” of his life.

Following a Thursday Night Football loss, Meyer was photographed cavorting in a bar with women other than his wife.

Meyer’s action caused a big distraction to the Jaguars and some of his wife’s actions on social media suggested she was contemplating a divorce.

In the end, Meyer avoided a disaster as the Jaguars gave him a second chance and his wife decided to stay with him.

“I know this has weighed so heavy on his heart and he’s hurting,” Tebow said on ESPN’s First Take. “I do think for some of the guys he will have to earn back their trust and respect. I believe he wants to make amends which is very hard, and it takes a while. That’s the thing about a reputation. It takes a lifetime to build and a moment to lose.”
